1. Phidelia Imiegha
Phidelia Imiegha is a writer, digital creator, and communications strategist with a unique perspective on content creation. She is a very creative person with a flair for storytelling.
During COVID, she suffered from an outbreak of acne and started looking for answers online. Eventually, she came across some online creators who discussed skincare solutions on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
She was instantly hooked, and she started consuming their content. Before long, she developed a passion for skincare and started making videos on the topic, which got her a following on Instagram.Â
However, she got bored and stopped enjoying it as much as she used to. She also didn’t want to feel boxed in, forced to share only an aspect of her personality when there were so many other things she was passionate about.
So she asked her followers whether they wanted to see different types of content, even suggesting they unfollow her if they didn’t want to, but she received an overwhelmingly positive reaction and started creating lifestyle content, too.Â
Things to note
- When you get your first taste of success as a content creator, you may feel pressured to stick to what you have tried, but Phidelia didn’t do that. She chose to be authentic and prioritized being herself over chasing the latest fads or hopping on the latest trends.
- We asked her if she had any advice for creators and she said, “Stay true to yourself and stay authentic, and the people who like you will find you.”
This and her unique outlook on content creation make her interview worth revisiting.

Despite studying Pure and Applied Chemistry, Aisha became interested in the idea of monetizing social media content and decided to learn more about it.
She took courses, conducted research, and taught herself everything from email marketing to SEO, content marketing, and Google Ads. Through this process, she discovered her passion for content and began looking for content-related roles.
Initially, she started as a social media manager but later transitioned to different roles within several agencies. Eventually, she wanted to challenge herself and her skills on a global level while also observing how people from diverse backgrounds collaborate.
She started applying for international jobs while continuing to work. It was a difficult process, but she persevered for roughly eight months until the VP of Marketing at Wizeline was impressed by her and offered her a job.

However, she got chemistry instead, which she didn’t find very interesting and didn’t do well in. She couldn’t see herself doing chemistry after graduation and grew worried. So, she turned to prayer for answers.
One day, she saw a friend designing an e-flyer through an app on his phone. This intrigued her, and she downloaded the app, which marked the beginning of her journey.
She started exploring the app, creating designs, and volunteering her skills to polish them. Once she had improved, she started charging between N500 – 1000 for her designs.
Eventually, she came up with the idea of selling design courses to people who didn’t understand how to use their designs, helping them comprehend and use their designs as an additional source of income. The idea took off, and now she is enjoying the results.
