Simply put, KYC is a process designed to verify your identity as a Selar creator. This helps us prevent fraud, identity theft, money laundering, and also to create a safe environment for you.

Why do we ask for KYC details?

By verifying your identity through KYC, we can:

  • Prevent fraud: Ensuring that every creator is who they claim to be helps us keep fraudulent activities at bay.
  • Protect against identity theft: By confirming your identity, we protect your personal information from being misused.
  • Combat money laundering: KYC helps us comply with the necessary regulatory bodies that aim to prevent money laundering and other illegal financial activities.

What we ask for

To complete your KYC verification, we need you to provide the following details:

  1. A detailed description of your store: Tell us about your store, the products or services you offer, and your business’s mission.
  2. Links to your social media pages: You will be asked to provide links to your social media profiles. This helps us to verify your online presence.
  3. A screenshot of a valid ID: Share your driver’s license, passport, or any government-issued identification. This helps us verify your identity. 
  4. A selfie holding the ID: Send a clear picture of you holding your ID. This helps us match your face to the ID ensuring that your face and the details on your ID are visible.
  5. Evidence showcasing customer satisfaction: Provide proof of value for your purchases or communication interactions with customers, such as testimonials or reviews. For physical products, this will mean delivery receipts from the delivery company. 
  6. Any relevant business-related documents: If applicable, please share any documents related to your business operations, e.g CAC. This helps us to verify your source of income.
