Embracing Equity: Selar Partners with Shecluded to train 5,000 women in Digital Skills
As technology advances at an unprecedented pace, it is becoming increasingly important for people to have strong digital skills.
Unfortunately, many women are still missing out on these opportunities, lacking access to the necessary training and resources. That is why Selar has partnered with the good women of Shecluded to close this digital gender gap and train 5,000 women with the digital skills they need to thrive.
With over 500,000 users across Africa on Selar, one of our primary goals as a company is to educate more creators on the potential of digital products, especially women.Â
We believe that there’s more work to be done to empower female creators in Africa. Hence, we are happy to announce our partnership with Shecluded, a financial-based platform that’s on a mission to get more money into the hands of women through access to loans, personal development initiatives, and women empowerment.
This partnership will see Selar provide her expertise in digital commerce and knowledge of the creator economy to support Shecluded’s mission of enabling women to create wealth through entrepreneurship. The training will cover a range of digital skills, including creating digital products, content creation, social media marketing, and e-commerce.
Speaking on the partnership, Growth & Marketing Manager at Selar, Milton Tutu, says, “We can’t grow the creator economy in Africa without recognizing the huge impact female creators add to it.
At Selar, some of our top-selling merchants are female and through this partnership with our friends at Shecluded, we hope to show more women that it’s possible to monetize your knowledge, skills, and experience”
The training program will be delivered through an online webinar and will focus on highlighting the key skills women can take advantage of to create financial freedom for themselves.
“The digital economy is growing rapidly at 6.8% annually, and we want to become enablers in supporting women to become key players in this sector. As a partner for women’s economic prosperity, we believe this partnership will be a catalyst for financial inclusion and independence,” said Ifeoma Uddoh, CEO, Shecluded.
Selar’s goal has always been to give African creators the necessary tools they require to monetize their knowledge and sell digital products. This includes the 51.9% of women that make up the creator economy.
The online event is scheduled to hold as follows;
Date: 29th – 30th March, 2023
